I have two pads one new, and one that worked fine last year (and this year up until I upgraded the software). Both have very limited range. The user can move no more than 6 feet from the bluetooth hub before experiencing lag and intermittent signal loss.
Is there a way to improve the signal performance?

Our BT adaptors have a range up to 300 ft.
If you are experiencing signal loss after 6 ft, you may need a replacement adaptor.

Since this is connected to a board, it would be hard to tell exactly where the issue is coming from.
Is there another board at your location?
If so, you can swap the BT adaptors to see if that helps. If you experience the same issue, you may want to try swapping the BT Coms that connect directly from the board.

Also, interference is always a possiblity (although rare).

I have to admit, normally when there is a hardware issue with BT, it either works or it doesn't. This is the first I have ever heard of a range problem. Confused

For further troubleshooting, please contact technical support at 800-856-0732 option 3, option 2.

New silver Interwrite Pad, it works great about 3-6ft away from computer (MacBook with built in Bluetooth) but serious lag or disconnect after that. Returned RMA and got another Pad. Same issues. We have an older blue Interwrite Pad talking to another MacBook with built in Bluetooth perfectly. That Blue pad can connect to this MacBook with no problem as well.

I have two new Pads in boxes still. Don't want to introduce them to the troubleshooting equation yet.

Going now to troubleshoot any/everything radio in that room.

My thought is the internal BT is problematic or going out.
Have you tried to use the adaptor that comes with the pad?

I would try that first as it is a more likely to be a BT issue rather than interference.

Turned off everything radio. Kids left and their cellphones were off, all wireless internet off, every other bluetooth and wireless device off. When that Pad is further than 10ft away it gets lag. 30x30ft classroom, MacBook with built-in bluetooth about 10ft in the middle, when in the corner (about 25ft from laptop - line of sight) it lags every 10 seconds or so. Drawing consistant squiggles and suddenly it stops responding for a little bit, then picks right back up - trying to catch up to where I currently am or if the delay was long enough, just draws a straight line to my current location.

Only other troubleshooting I have to do is try and disable the built in bluetooth and use the bluetooth dongle that came with the Pad. Problem exists on a second MacBook as well, identical hardware. I might wipe one clean and just have system software on there to see if it's an OS flaw.

Again, the old blue Pads we've purchased a year earlier are flawless, and perform at least 50ft away with no lag in the gym.
