Interwrite Learning Updates Award-Winning Interwrite Pad

Improvements to the leading wireless classroom pad include new design and software

Columbia, MD - June 24, 2007 - Interwrite Learning, manufacturer of award-winning Interwrite Interactive Classroom products, announces updates to Interwrite Pad, the world's most popular wireless classroom pad. It now features an improved look and feel and includes Interwrite Workspace, the company’s next generation teaching software for the digital classroom (a $249 value).

Winner of the 2006 AEP & AOL@SCHOOL Technology Leadership Award, Interwrite Pad was introduced in 2002, received a U.S. Patent in 2005 and is the only pad developed exclusively for classroom use.

Now used daily in tens of thousands of classrooms worldwide, Interwrite Pad is a Bluetooth® wireless device that allows teachers to create an interactive whiteboard on any surface in their classroom. It gives teachers the freedom to move among their students, while easily being able to interact with their lesson materials projected at the front of the classroom using a standard digital projector. Interwrite Pad provides both remote access and control of the teacher’s computer, in addition to lesson materials. When the Interwrite Pad is passed to students, it allows them to become directly engaged in the lesson without ever having to leave their seats. Multiple Pads can be used in the same classroom to further increase student engagement and participation.

Rye Neck Union Free School District in Mamaroneck, N.Y. has used Interwrite Pads for the past five years. They were so pleased with the results that all Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms are now outfitted with the Interwrite Boards and Pads, including all special education classrooms.

"The Interwrite Pad is a next generation classroom solution that has proved to be invaluable to the advancement of our students," said Dr. Peter Mustich, Superintendent of Rye Neck UFSD. "We’ve been using the Pads for the past five years and they have done a remarkable job of helping our teachers improve the effectiveness and flexibility of their lessons. The Pads have also significantly increased interaction among students, w hich has really improved their motivation to learn. Standardizing on the Interwrite Pads has helped us to stay on the cutting edge of technology and continue our reputation as a high-performing district."

Edina, Minn.’s Concord Elementary School has also seen the Interwrite Pads play a pivotal role in their students’ success.

"Students these days are visual learners, and the Pads help to motivate them, spark their interest and increase their engagement in lessons," said Katie Williams, Principal of Concord Elementary School. "The faculty at Concord loves the Pads because they aren’t anchored to one place, which allows them to teach from anywhere in the classroom. No matter what lesson is being taught, they have the ability to connect with every child. The Pads give our teachers the just in time capability of changing lessons and instructions, while still allowing them to keep their goal in tact and stay on course."
