Interwrite™ SchoolPad Wins Prestigious AEP & AOL@SCHOOL Technology Leadership Award

SchoolPad Chosen as Most Innovative Technology From Nearly 1,300 Entries

Columbia, MD - June 20, 2006 - GTCO CalComp, Inc., a leader in interactive technology products for the classroom, announces that its Interwrite SchoolPad won the 2006 AEP & AOL@SCHOOL Technology Leadership Award. Selected from nearly 1,300 entries, the Interwrite SchoolPad was recognized for its innovative use of wireless technology and interactive tools to improve and enhance the delivery of any educational software package. The award was presented at the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) Awards Banquet and Gala on June 9, 2006, in Washington, D.C.

"The AEP & AOL@SCHOOL Technology Leadership Award is granted to one company each year that demonstrates a unique and original approach to the implementation of content, media, design and delivery." stated Mark Stevens, Education Director & GM , AOL Kids, Teens & School Division. "The Interwrite SchoolPad demonstrates a clear understanding of how technology can be used to improve content delivery and the lives of students and teachers with its innovative wireless device for classroom instruction."

The Interwrite SchoolPad is a Bluetooth® wireless device that allows teachers to create an interactive whiteboard on any surface in their classroom. They can interact with their computer, with a connected projector, from up to 300 feet away. Using electromagnetic pen-input technology and Interwrite Software, teachers can use the SchoolPad to digitally annotate over a prepared lesson, website, or any software program to create interactive and engaging lessons. The lessons, with annotated notes, can be saved, printed and emailed to students.

The SchoolPad can be used with the Interwrite SchoolBoard or teachers can project the computer image/lesson to any surface to create an interactive whiteboard. In addition, up to seven SchoolPads can be connected to the same computer for even greater class participation. GTCO CalComp pioneered the wireless pad technology and holds the U.S. patent for the collaborative input system technology in the SchoolPad.

"Thousands of teachers around the world use the Interwrite SchoolPad to engage their students and create an interactive learning environment. We constantly hear how much they love the ability to move around the classroom and interact with their students while they teach. It allows them, no matter what lesson they are teaching or software program they are utilizing, to connect with every child," said Rob Meissner, vice president of marketing for GTCO CalComp. "We are extremely pleased and honored that, in addition to the many accolades we receive from our teachers, our Interwrite SchoolPad has been recognized by AOL@SCHOOL and AEP. We take pride in developing the most innovative classroom technology products and this award from such a prestigious group validates our passionate efforts and strengthens our commitment in developing future products for teachers and students."
